Overview
3D printing, also known as additive manufacturing, is a revolutionary technology that creates physical objects from digital designs by adding material layer by layer. Unlike traditional manufacturing methods that cut away or mold material, 3D printing builds objects from the ground up, enabling the creation of complex geometries that would be impossible or extremely costly to produce otherwise.
How 3D Printing Works
The 3D printing process begins with a digital 3D model, typically created in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. This model is then processed by slicing software, which divides it into thousands of thin horizontal layers. The 3D printer reads these instructions and deposits, cures, or fuses material layer by layer to build the final object.
