What kind of quality can I expect?

3D printing has made dramatic progress in recent years and is now able to achieve excellent results, both in visual quality as well as durability.

You can check on our website homepage various examples of real prints from our shop to get a good idea of what to expect.

The typical visual issues you may occasionally encounter include:

• Visible layer lines
• Warping, i.e. flat surfaces bending a bit
• Marks left from supports (i.e. scaffolding structures sometimes necessary to print together with the object to support overhangs, that are removed after printing)

One important thing to consider is that there are many parameters that affect the print quality, from printing speed, layer height, or even model orientation on the print bed. These parameters often require a tradeoff, especially between speed and quality, so a bit of trial/error from experience will help make the best choice.

We provide various base print profiles, that will affect quality and print time (and therefore price), but feel free to ask for tweaks or reach out via chat for help selecting the right one based on your needs.

Resistance to stress, shocks, heat or UV varies greatly depending on the materials used, feel free to refer to our Materials Selection guide for more details.

Print settings can also influence the object strength, in particular through options such as wall thickness (how many layers to use on each face) and infill density (how much to fill empty internal space).
